Introduction

The Chlorine Institute in cooperation with the Northern Southern Railroad and TransCAER^® is sponsoring a TransCAER^® Event at the Norfolk Southern Railroad Bison yard on August 19, 2010.  This event will be a full day training session for first responders and others seeking information on response to chemical emergencies with specific emphasis on chlorine.   The day’s activities are described in detail in the training brochure.

The Chlorine Institute is a technical trade association focused on the safe production, distribution and use of chlorine and associated chemicals.  Our members include producers of chlorine, packagers and users.  Many of the trainers for this event will be member company response personnel with a deep knowledge in responding to chemical emergencies.

We welcome participation by those with interest or a need for this information.  The day will start at 8 am and participants will rotate through stations during the day.   The activities will combine classroom training with hand on segments for the participants.

In order to plan lunch (which will be provided) and other activities, we do ask that those planning on participating complete the registration form as soon as possible, or please pass this information on to anyone inside or outside your organization that might have a need or interest in this training.
