Safety and Security

The mission of the Chlorine Institute, Inc. is to foster the safe and secure production, distribution, and use of chlorine, and associated products sodium and potassium hydroxides, and sodium hypochlorite; and the distribution and use of hydrochloric acid and anhydrous hydrogen chloride.  Safety and Security are very important parts of the mission of the Chlorine Institute.  CI continues to actively work with government agencies in the area of chlorine security including the various components of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Department of Transportation.  CI closely coordinates its security initiatives with other related industry trade associations.
