What information can I find about CI mission chemicals?
The Chlorine Institute provides information on how to improve safety performance in the production, packaging, distribution, and use of its mission chemicals and to help focus attention on securing these operations.  For more details, please our Mission and Goals.

What guidance does CI have about sodium hypochlorite?
The Institute publishes various documents containing information about sodium hypochlorite.  Pamphlet 96:  Sodium Hypochlorite Manual contains basic information on the safe handling and use of both industrial and household strength solutions as well as physical and chemical properties, compatible materials, handling systems, and pertinent analytical procedures.  It is available in our Bookstore.  A number of other documents are available in the Sodium Hypochlorite Stewardship section.

Can you help me with information about chlorinating my swimming pool?
The Institute can provide information on the safe handling of chlorine (Cl2) or sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) for use at pools, but we do not have information on swimming pool chlorination.  For that information, you should consider contacting your local supplier or an organization such as the Association of Pool and Spa Professionals (www.apsp.org).

Can I hire CI to audit my process or facility?
The Chlorine Institute does not perform audits.  As a Trade Association, we publish guidelines and recommendations that are developed collectively by our members.  It is the responsibility of each company to determine how best to audit their processes.

Can I hire CI as an expert witness?
While the Institute works with government agencies, its members, and other stakeholders to encourage the use of credible science and proven technology in the development of voluntary actions and regulations the Institute does not provide expert testimony as a service.
