2021 Technology Symposium - Call for Presenters and Exhibitors

Planning is underway for The Chlorine Institute’s 2021 Technology Symposium and Table-Top Expo, held during our regular Annual Meeting on March 22-25 at the Sheraton New Orleans Hotel in New Orleans, Louisiana. Don’t just save the date – plan to get involved by presenting and/or exhibiting!

What is the purpose of the Technology Symposium and Table-Top Expo?

The Technology Symposium will consist of approximately 40 thirty-minute talks, broken into two categories: 1) safety in chlor-alkali processes/ lessons learned and 2) technology. Chlor-alkali producers, users, equipment suppliers, government partners, academia, and stakeholders are eligible to present. Space is limited, and potential presenters are encouraged to submit abstracts as soon as practical. Technology topics/speakers will be assigned on a first-come basis and based on ensuring a variety of topics in the 2021 program.

The Table-Top Expo is an opportunity for industry stakeholders to exhibit new technologies, services, and processes as they relate to the advancement of safety and security and to make stakeholders aware of existing technologies.

Wait, what about COVID-19?

If 2020 taught us anything, we have learned the future is hard to predict. The 2021 Technology Symposium may look different. Regardless of format, we are working to craft a robust schedule of presenters and exhibitors. For now, please indicate your speaking and/or exhibiting interest to help us to build the schedule.

What Types of Presentations are Solicited for the Symposium?

If you are working on or have worked on a technical project, have written a technical paper or have a new technology or safety practice to introduce to the chlor-alkali industry, we’d welcome your presentation at the Symposium! The presentations are intended to focus on technology and safety, so please do not give a commercial sales pitch. All presentations must be submitted for review in advance to assure compliance with the guidelines.

To help with brainstorming, here are a few ideas for topics:

  • How to Calculate Accidental Releases
  • Accidental Mixing
  • In-depth Incident Sharing
  • Nitrogen Trichloride
  • Evolution of Experience and Knowledge Sharing
