Dear Chlorine Institute Member,
I hope all of you have remained well through the ongoing pandemic. Certainly, a year ago we would not have imagined that we would be in the situation that we are currently enduring. In fact, last spring when the pandemic first hit, I certainly thought we would be back to some normal operations by this time.
Unfortunately, normal remains some time off in the future. With the continuing pandemic and the accompanying company travel restrictions which are expected to continue at least through the first quarter of 2021, the Executive Committee of the Institute has decided to postpone the 2021 Technology Symposium and Expo to the Spring of 2022. We will, however, hold the 2021 Annual Meeting March 22-25 virtually.
We are currently investigating conference software packages that will allow for a more interactive format than the virtual meetings this year and will permit networking opportunities. We expect to have a format like the 2020 Fall Meeting with some technical seminar sessions in addition to the business meetings. Once we settle on the agenda and delivery mechanism, we will be back to you.
We are all disappointed to be forced to make this decision but given the circumstances felt there was no other option. Please feel free to contact me with questions or concerns.
Stay healthy and safe.
President of The Chlorine Institute
