CI's Indianapolis Training Highlights Collaboration and Honors Leadership

Latest News,

Earlier this month, CI held its second chlorine emergency response training event of 2026 in Indianapolis, IN from June 2-4 in partnership with our host CSX in its Avon railyard. The training brought together 82 responders from 29 different organizations, including significant representation by Wayne Township Fire and other state fire departments, as well as the Indian Department of Emergency Management and Department of Public Health.  CI member companies (Alexander Chemical, Corteva, and Powell Solutions) also sent students. This variety of attendees reinforced a strong, collaborative approach to hazmat preparedness across the region.

We’re grateful to our instructors:

  • Brenntag:  Joe Pryor and Jacob Miller
  • JCI Jones Chemical:  Logan Halcomb, Kevin Watt, and Brock Wickhersham
  • Indian Springs Manufacturing:  Rob Wolnak
  • Midland:  Dan Thompson
  • SPSI:  Mike Burkett
  • Univar:  Mark Eisele
  • Westlake Corporation:  Ronnie Colley
  • CSX Railroad:  James Courtnery and Scott Karcher

Special thanks to our local TRANSCAER State Coordinator, Mike White from Indiana DHS.  During this event, Mike was presented with TRANSCAER’s 2025 Coordinator of the Year Award for his tireless efforts in spreading the TRANSCER message.
