Planning is underway for The Chlorine Institute’s 2026 Technology Symposium and Table-Top Expo, to be held during our regular Annual Meeting on March 23-25, 2026, at the Royal Sonesta - Houston Galleria. We are looking for presenters who:
- are working on or have worked on a technical project,
- have written a technical paper, or
- have a new technology, safety practice, or security practice to introduce to the chlor-alkali industry.
The presentations are intended to focus on technology, safety and security for the benefit of the chlor-alkali industry. All presentations will be reviewed in advance to ensure compliance with the anti-trust and non-commercial guidelines.
We are looking for all chlor-alkali related technology, safety, and security, and especially those listed below:
- Basic hazard information on chlor-alkali chemicals, geared toward early-career professionals
- Deep dives into incidents, near misses, or hazards (including lessons learned and samples of conducting root cause investigations)
- Chlorine-related equipment safety (e.g. vaporizers, scrubbers)
- Accidental mixing prevention
- Nitrogen trichloride management
- Emergency Response (e.g. experiences with table-top exercises, actual in-plant or external responses, planning, coordination with external authorities/industry partners, etc.)
- Refrigerants for use in chlorine operations
- Material applicability, compatibility, inspection, maintenance with chlor-alkali chemicals
- Monitoring (e.g. at fenceline, stationary, portable, area, etc.)
- Hydrogen in chlorine management
- Drone use for inspection, surveillance, etc.
- Drone security
- Brine handling and analysis
- Medical management
- Transportation practices (e.g., addressing unique loading/unloading issues, transport security, package tracking, etc.)
- Pesticide Uses of Interest (e.g., drinking water, wastewater, aquatics, cooling towers, surface sanitization, crop post-harvest chlorination, etc.)
- Other safety, security, and technology topics related to CI’s mission chemicals*
